Confession: I don’t drink. Not a drop. So naturally, L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa in the Seychelles hired me to photograph their cocktails. 🍹

It turns out to be the perfect setup. While everyone else wonders how the drinks taste, I’m only thinking about how they look: the light coming through the glass, the condensation running down the side, the colours glowing against the wooden tray. Cocktails are surprisingly demanding subjects – every glass is a little mirror, so half the job is controlling what it reflects.

And there’s another advantage: zero risk that the photographer drinks the props before the last shot.

I couldn’t tell you what’s in a single one of them. But they looked fantastic – and the team at L’Escale made every one of them look effortless.
